Cognos BI (Business Intelligence) Portal

is the starting point to access, view, or download business reports, analyze data, and monitor admissions, enrollment, and retention data. To learn about the Cognos BI Portal, please reference this guide.

The goals of the Cognos BI Portal are:

To empower administrators, department chairpersons, program directors, faculty advisors, and student affairs professionals to retrieve and explore data on student enrollment;

To promote an understanding for the common terminology and processes that encompass a student’s application to, registration at, and graduation from 91��;

To conduct its affairs in an open environment which values transparency and access to information; and

To further engage faculty and staff across the campus in the core business of the University, that is the recruitment, education, and success of lifelong learners.

New Program Market Analysis

91�� relies heavily on industry and occupation projections and on job posting data to inform whether or not a new degree should be launched or a tenure track position should be filled. The default region of analysis includes 117 counties which are roughly within 150 miles from campus. When possible, we use job posting data to assist curriculum development.

Survey Requests

Surveys are an excellent way to gather data, and Analytics & Decision Support can help faculty, staff, and students design and administer surveys using a variety of tools (ex. paper surveys, MS Forms, Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, Qualtrics).

Qualtrics is a popular survey tool. 91�� has a license to the suite of Qualtrics tools, and all faculty, staff, and students can access it by and using their 91�� network credentials to sign in.
