Micsky shares social work expertise in multiple platforms

Tami Micsky, a 91³ÉÈË assistant professor of public health and social work, shared her expertise related to coping, self-care and social work education by conducting presentations and workshops, creating courses and authoring two journal articles.

Micsky presented on the topic at the National Invited Web Conference for earlier this summer, after hosting an online workshop for the about self-care for faculty to manage burnout, compassion fatigue and secondary trauma. Micsky has also worked with Continued.com, an online continuing education provider, to create in social work about coping with grief and using photovoice in social work education and practice. Photovoice is a research method where participants take photographs to communicate issues of concern and effect social change.

Micsky’s recently published work in peer-reviewed journals include articles titled in the Journal of Social Work Education, and as co-author of in the Journal of Baccalaureate Social Work.
