Inclusive Music and Music for Social Change is designed for both current music educators and future teachers who want to make their classrooms more inclusive, relevant, and socially engaged. This course explores culturally responsive and sustaining approaches to music teaching while examining how music can build community, affirm identity, and serve as a catalyst for social change.
Through practical strategies, critical reflection, and real-world project design, participants learn to evaluate repertoire and teaching practices for equity, expand representation in their music-making, and create learning environments where all students feel seen, valued, and empowered. Whether you are already teaching or preparing to enter the profession, this course offers tools to help you lead with empathy, purpose, and impact.
